Cross Stitch Iphone Case

Posts in the last couple of months have been scarse so here is my quick atempt to catch you all up in my world of fashion! I'll start by going through each of these pictures. Alright number one, Micheal Kors watch. As you could probably remember I've been wanting a gold watch for a while now. I'd seen a few around but when I found this one I liked how it wasn't completely gold but instead as some people call it "sunglasses plastic". It's a great way to subtly incorporate animal print into my outfits though it did take some getting use to as it is HUGE!

Ok so the next being Country Road corduroys. I've posted about these ones before and I ended up buying them just in time for winter. They're great even though they can be debated as coloured jeans... Of course I would have to include something in here from one of my favorite designers, Minkpink! This time it's a tye-dye pull over and if you can remeber to a while back they are very similar to my tie-dye shorts. Even though Minkpink is one of my favourites, the designer of the dresses Rachel Gilbert is quickly becoming another favourite. I tried on one of her dresses (the black one)  out shopping the other day and I absalutely loved it! Even though she designs for formal wear I couldn't help but look up her series and fall in love with the longer pink version of the dress... Hopefully there'll be an event later this year where I will need a lovely new formal dress.

Ok so next is the May black wedges. I'd been eyeing off these babies for a while when one day a email popped into my inbox and told me that the lovely people at May were having a sale and that it just so happened the shoes I'd been wanting were half price... bliss! Lucky for me they had my size and were here within two days. Though I haven't yet had a chance to wear them and I am still trying to get a hang of walking in them (14cm heel can be bit tricky!).

The last but not least is my new Iphone case. My friend bought me the cross stitch kit about three months ago and I hadn't had a chance to start it until last week. A few late nights later and this is the result! I am sure I have forgotten a million things that I have loved/wanted/seen/bought/ got inspired by/made. Actually come to think of it I have made a lot recently but that will have to be for another day...

I'm here still...

No post in the last million weeks... I must be up to something right? Well not much besides school work and with today being my first exam, I don't know why I've decided to start posting again now. But here are all the edited photos from the photo shoot! I hope you can recognise the green dress...! We'll see how all the time of holidays go and how many posts I manage to do. Ciao

Photo Shoot

To say no posts in a long time is an understatement. It's been months I know and it will probably be months until the next one. But I really wanted to share one of my photos from a shoot I have been doing for my photography assignment. I really like how my dress looks in this photo and of course how stunning my beautiful friend looks. I can't wait to finish editing the rest... until next time Adios!

Weekly Wish List: Corduroy

Country Road Skinny Cord Jean

If you didn't already know, I don't like coloured jeans. I never really have. But to probably most of your surprise I really like coloured corduroy jeans. I bet you're thinking, whats the difference? I slightly agree with that and have decided that coloured corduroy jeans are on the border of become coloured jeans. Think of them as coloured jean's second cousin who lives on the other side of the world and who you haven't heard from since you were 13. Then it makes them perfectly OK and different from coloured jeans. The thing I love most about corduroy is it has that lived in feel. I guess I haven't moved on just yet from my hippy summer... Though I love the red and brown I think a pair in either maroon or burnt orange would definitely make my winter wardrobe. The one thing about corduroy is that it only works if its tight fitted. If it's too loose it just reminds me of my primary school uniform and please don't even think about flared corduroy jeans...

What do you think? Are corduroy jeans cool? Or am I being a total hypocrite?

Weekly Wish List: Pullover

American Apparel Fishermans Pullover

It may still be summer according to the calender but the weather is proving otherwise and so this week I have decided to play along and go for a pullover. I've seen a few around but all of them were either the wrong colour for my skin tone or a weird style. But the lovely people at American Apparel have made the perfect style pullover and in as many colours as you can think of. There are sixteen different colours in fact and I love them all. But I choose four that I thought would work best. I love the simplicity of the camel coloured one but the navy and purple are more exciting. Even though it's obvious that the camel coloured one would go with a lot more, I still think the navy and purple would go with most thinks as well. My favourite would have to be the last one. It's a dark grey with specks of different colours. It would go with everything and still give me the bits of colour I want. I would be happy with any really or all...

What do you think? Too Nana? Or perfect for winter?

Weekly Wish List: Ombre Lips

A couple of days ago I saw this look in a magazine and really wanted to try it. I spent a couple of hours you tubing how to's and practising over and over. But I still couldn't get it right at all. My problem... the colour lipstick's I was using were too similar. Even though to me my pinks looked totally different, on they looked exactly the same. So my weekly wish list for this week is to get completely different colour lipsticks to create the ombre look. You are also probably wondering why I want to make my lips two different colours when they can look just as cool with one. Well this can also make your lips look bigger and fuller which is pretty cool if you ask me. They also look awesome and are something different from the too common smoky eye. The one thing though is it has to be shiny and you have to keep the rest of your make up simple. Meaning you have to use clear gloss on top to complete the look and step away from the eye liner... And unlike me you have to use complete different colours (still matching though!).

What do you think? Is it something you will try? Or is it best left to the runway and professionals?

My Little Wallet

After just counting I realised I actually have 13 wallets. Yes 13. Whilst trying to justify this really I only use four and have only bought three of them. The rest were just gifts. So really adding one more to the collection really doesn't matter. So welcome wallet 14 you will be truly loved just like your 13 other brothers and sisters. Though you're not suppose to have favourites, this one is. Only because I made it. I saw the pattern and just decided to do it. I picked up the next coolest looking material and then this baby was created. Surprisingly it didn't take too long and is also the perfect size for my Mimco bag. It is also the first thing I have made to wear my new labels. I haven't gotten around to sticking them on things I have already made (see I told you it would take me a couple of months... at least.) but it was lucky enough to be stuck on something. Even though I already have a truck load of wallets and I absolutely love this one I am hoping to make a few more of them. I don't know what I'll do with them but they are just so darn cute.

P.S How cool do the labels look?!

Weekly Wish List: Time

Nixon The Spur

In the title I said time. Really because it's coming to the end of summer and what comes with summer, endless holidays. The shops are bringing out their Autumn collections and school going back is just around the corner. So if possible please may some fairy somewhere gives us endless summer holidays. Cool thanks. The weekly wish list item in the picture can't give me time but it will at least help me tell it. I have been wanting a rose gold watch for a while now and there hasn't seem to be many around (or I just haven't seen them). Looking through an American magazine I saw a gold version of the watch and decided to look it up. Lucky for me it comes in rose gold. So much better. Though I don't know if I can get them anywhere in Australia yet. On line they cost a gazillion dollars... try around 300. Not quite what my budget will be willing to pay for a watch. I also want to know what the size looks like in real life. In the picture is looks big which is what I like. So until I find the watch in Australian land or at an affordable price, the weekly wish list is where is shall stay (sadly).

What do you think? Are gold watches in general suited better with the elderly? Or can they be cool?

I Heart You

First up, they are really dodgy photos but I just wanted to post them up even though I am uber tired. So that probably explains why they are terrible. The first two pictures ( if you can even call them that!) are of a necklace I crochet. I got the pattern from Pip Lincoln's book, Make Hey While the Sun Shines. I originally had no idea how to crochet and was going to teach myself from the book to make it for my mum's birthday. That was in November. I struggled to figure out how to do and eventually had to give in and get mum to teach me how to make her own birthday present... Two months late. It's not that it was even hard. Once I got the hang of it I had finished within a couple of hours. What made me really like it was that it's a bib necklace but it has the quirky touch of crochet. I also thought it was pretty cute that it was called, I heart you. The last picture is of my very own labels. I recently decided that I wanted to make labels to put on everything I make. So when I found a website that did them I was really excited and as of Friday, I now have them ready to sew onto everything. It's really hard to see what they say in the picture but it says the brand name, Olivia Ashley and then of course where they are made, Australia. I decided to keep the tag simple. So they background is a cream sort of colour and the writing is silver. Eventually they will be sewn onto everything that I have made... Hopefully that won't take two months...

Something Vintage

Vintage clothing seems to be very popular with a lot of people. Some can make their whole wardrobe from it but before this dress I had never tried it. It's not that I had anything against it, it's just I really didn't know where to start. So when I was invited to go look at newly opened vintage shop I was excited to give it a go. I didn't expect to find anything or if I did would have to mend it somehow. Though I did find this dress and luckily for me it fit pretty much perfectly. It wasn't cheap but I decided to buy it anyway. The shop owner also was dying to see the dress worn with a red scarf, to create a sailor look. So she nicely threw in the scarf though I decided to try it differently. On my head. Sort of turban like. It creates more of a hippy look. This dress also has a few cool secrets. First it looks like it's made from cotton but it's sort of  a terry towelling material and second it has some awesome hidden pockets. I love it because even though it is vintage (I don't know from what era!) it looks modern and almost any colour shoe or accessory matches with the navy and white. I also like the illusion it creates... It does make me look taller - Yay! I am yet to actually wear it but I think if I did, unlike this photo I would wear my hair tied up to show off the stripes more.

What do you think? Do you wear much vintage? Or do you stay away from second hand clothes?

Almost Kardashian

I have a million more amazing photos I could put up but I think I'll stop here. Who is she? Only a sister to the Kardashians and an amazing model. Though she doesn't share the Kardashian last name with her sisters, she is just as amazing. Her name? Kendall Jenner. I first came across her in photos from a modelling shoot she did for White Sands(3rd photo) but I didn't actually know who she was until the other day when I was watching an episode to do with the Kardashians. I'm not going to lie, I never really liked the Kardashians to begin with. They just seemed like any other cashed up family. Now I think differently. After watching the episode I found out who the amazing model was that I'd seen before hand and that I actually do like the Kardashians even if I am jealous of their bank accounts.  My favourite though (if you can have favourites) is Kendall. Mainly because she seems like such a nice person but also because of how stunning she is. She is the face of Forever 21 and has featured in Teen Vogue with her younger sister, Kylie Jenner. Besides all of that she has an awesome wardrobe and fashion sense to die for. She is definitely one to look out for... Watch out the younger sisters are taking over.
And one more photo... !

Weekly Wish List: Crop Top

Minkpink Black Swan Crop Top

I bet you're surprised to finally see a weekly wish list again! It may be late but it's here and here to stay. This week's weekly wish list item is sort of to go with the jumpsuit/overalls I posted about before. It's a crop top from my favourite, Minkpink. Though I don't like to call it a crop top. I think mid drift is a much nicer word for it. Unlike the model though I would layer it. In my case I think it's perfect for under my backless overalls because it doesn't completely take away the backless part but it covers enough. I also like that it's off the shoulders. It creates a different look compared to a top with normal straps. It would also go well under a sleeveless sheer top or it would also be great paired with a high waisted pair of shorts or skirt. I know it's a bit eighties but that's always coming back in right?

What do you think? Could it look good? Or should it stay in the past?

Newspaper Nails 2

Here are some more photos of newspaper nails featuring the beautiful Nakiya! Has anyone else tried this yet? Or do you have any other awesome nail art tricks to share?

Overalls or Jumpsuit?

Wrangler Denim Jumpsuit

Once again I have jumped the gun and bought my weekly wish list item before I could write about it. I know weekly wish list was suppose to be yesterday but my days have started to blur and I can't tell my Sundays from Mondays or any day for that matter. If we were to pretend it were Sunday this would be my weekly wish list. I think they are overalls but everyone else thinks otherwise. I guess they are jumpsuit like but what makes me classify them as overalls is that they are denim. I love the fact that you can do so much with them. You can wear almost anything under it or be like the model and wear nothing at all! I also like that they can be worn over swimmers. I know you must be thinking after my country style bag that I must be turning hippy but I think it just comes with summer. With summer we are more carefree and so is our clothing. So I am going to embrace my inner hippy and wear my overalls all summer long...

What do you think? Are they overalls or a jumpsuit? And are they too hippy?

One of a Kind

In case you can't read it properly... Yes the T-shirt says call of the catwalk! I was lucky enough to have it made for me from New Zealand. As much as I am worried about wearing it because I don't like people knowing it's me behind the blog, I love it. When I do wear it though if anyone asks as far as I know it's a brand from New Zealand. Being white it matches with everything and it's the only one of its kind (just what I like). I also took these photos to show my newly dyed hair. I have now joined the brunette side. After being a red head for a while (thanks to the lovely Blake Lively) I decided to go almost back to my natural colour and try brunette. Now I've been blonde, red and now brown I can say which have more fun... I also wanted to show you how my new Mimco bag looks in real life. Which I don't think is not too country or Taylor Swift.

Nail It - One more time!

OPI Nail Apps, Steps

These little babies are the amateurs way of having amazing nail art. I can barely paint my left hand properly and only just managed to do newspaper nails with help, so of course you can imagine how excited I am about these. What are they exactly? Well they are nail stickers. These ones are by OPI and are called Nail Apps. And how do they work? You simply stick them onto clean nails and file off the excess. Easy as. There are heaps of them around but my favourite pattern is the one above. It's not a very good picture but I have seen them on someone and the colours are much brighter and they seem to blend a lot better. Though colour blocking seems to be lost forever these are an amazing example of colour blocking. They would also last longer than nail polish because they would be much harder to chip. I can't wait to try a pair... they are seriously perfect for summer.

A Little Mimco

Mimco Talitha Couch

This was going to be my wish list item for tomorrow but instead with a little convincing I bought it today! I am a little late on this trend but I had been wanting a long across the body bag and I just so happened to come across this Mimco one the other day.  Now I bet most of you are probably thinking that it was crazy expensive and out of all the wish list items I've had why did I choose this one? Well luckily for me it was on sale for $99 down from $249. Now that's a bargain if you ask me. I know it looks really cow girl like in this picture but in real life it's not that bad ( I will have to take photos of it when I actually wear it).  It also has a lot of fringing which I am just starting to get into ( I've taken my time I know!).  I also love the size of it. It's just big enough to fit my wallet with out it losing the whole idea of an across the body bag.  It's a little unusual which is another reason why I love it. I can't wait to use it...

What do you think? Too Taylor Swift?

Perm Again?

Rebecca Minkoff s/s 2012

Out of all the cool things I would love to be able to do with my hair a fuzzy perm like curl is not one. This could be because it reminds me too much of mine own hair but also how many people could actually pull off fuzzy hair? Besides these beautiful models and Serena Van Der Woodsen (even though hers is more of a curl) not many.  I think the whole idea behind the fuzzy perm is being a relaxed summery style. Something that can be worn to the beach but also out at a party. It's also much easier to maintain during a humid summers day when most people's hair goes frizzy anyway. I think I would like it a lot better if the curls were more defined rather than brushed out to look like some sort of animal tail. I don't think it will hang around long only because it would make people feel like they haven't done their hair at all even though it's taken effort.

What do you think? Do you like it? Will it be around for much longer?
